Maybe in 10 years time most chess matches will be played over the Internet. I think of all
the
hassles of travelling to play county matches on damp weekends, of late nights in a cold
chess club,
of the times I can't play when I want to play etc.

(PS I co-authored a chess book with John Emms (currently 2nd in the Drury Lane Tournament)
called
'Chess For the Rank and File' you may have heard it of it - it only sold modestly and had
mixed
reviews. I think many reviewers missed the point it was aimed at the average club player
(120-160
BCF) and responses from those people have been very posiitve - still this is not supposed
to be a
plug!
